Recent Grand Hotel Oslo Review: "Great hotel experience! This is a beautiful hotel, very nicely decorated and luxurious. Located right on the strip in the center of Oslo, so it's very easy to access many of the sights as well as lots of cafes, bars, and restaurants. Close to the subway system, too. I know there is a shuttle or something to get from the airport, but unfortunately we took a taxi - very, very pricey! Check out the shuttle before you arrive.
The room included a sumptuous breakfast buffet in the cafe every morning. Very comfortable bed and large bathroom with a big tub as well as a narrow stall shower. Our room looked out over the square in front of the Stortinget. Great view of all the activity going on. Can get a bit loud with the windows open - Oslo is a late-night city. The windows and drapes would have shut out most of the revelry, but we opted for the fresh air despite the noise. We were there during a Norway Scotland football match (which Norway won!) and the city was filled with boisterous Scotsmen in kilts. I will always associate Oslo with drunken 3am renditions of "Scotland the Brave" played on bagpipes!"
