Recent Holmenkollen Park Rica Review: "Oslo is an expensive city food prices are very high, although quality is very good. This half way up a mountain hotel knows how to deliver a good dining experience that lessens the pain somewhat. The service is friendly and the breakfast should be taken advantage of. We had a an inclusive breakfast with our booking and it was exceptional. I have rarely seen as much as choice, quantity or quality in a hotel. So if you go on a budget make this the main meal of the day which is healthier anyway. Free internet access, pool, sauna and comprehensively equipped gym, whats not to liker We will go again and I will recommend this hotel to my colleagues for longer stays. It is a little out of the way however if you plan correctly you can get into the city centre in about 30 to 40 minutes for 25 kroner one way on the T-bane. A taxi will set you back around 300 Kroner so forward planning is advisable. Great place, must be fantastic in the snow., with the fire burning in the hearths, stunning architecture and good quality furniture, definitely not your average The indoor pool is small and the single sex sauna will take four at a pinch."

Tryvannstårnet, at the top of Holmenkollen, is a 118-metre lookout tower built in 1962. Its enclosed observation deck, 60 metres above ground, offers panoramic views over Oslo and the surrounding countryside.

Located on Oslo's hilly outskirts at the gateway to the Marka Forest, Norway's 6th largest ski recreation area features the giant Holmenkollen Ski Jump. Great views of Oslo are possible from the top of the ski tower, which hosts an international competition each March. A museum on site tracks 4,000 years of skiing.
